EUYA Indigo

Studio “Indigo” in Tartu has started it's activities in 2006, run by EUYA and was supported by Municipality of Tartu. From the very beginning studio held the niche of being one local spot for non-Estonian youth, mainly for Russian-speakers. It's name “Indigo” was taken from the psychological phenomena that describes particular abilities of a child and necessity to stimulate and develop them throughout creative and intellectual activities. This approach closely connected to methodologies used by EUYA and built on basis of non-formal learning. Main peculiarity of “Indigo”, comparing to other youth centres of Tartu, was concentrated on principles of peer education when trainer and audience remain equal regardless of social status, gender, etc. In other words, leaders and group managers are as young as their students, though have some particular skills that they would like to share with mates.

At the moment studio does not exist however the idea was transformed into EUYA Indigo division where several interest groups are successfully united, namely photo club, club of debaters, club of intellectual games “TARK”, Tartu free lance jugglers, poisters and slackliners and school of multilateral tourism. More detailed information see under the links in left menu.

The activity is made possible thanks to support of Tartu Municipality.
